Hannah Moorhead
Actor • Musician • Teaching Artist
Hello!
I’m Hannah Moorhead, an actor, musician, and teaching artist originally from St. Louis, MO, now based in New York City. I hold a BFA in Musical Theatre from Webster Conservatory, and through theatre, I’ve found a powerful way to honor the impact people and stories can have on my life, on others, and on the world.
At the core of my work is a belief that storytelling can do more than entertain. It can connect us, challenge us, and create meaningful change. I’m drawn to projects that lead with humanity and intention, and I’m committed to contributing to work that leaves audiences feeling seen, moved, or inspired.
In addition to performing, I’m a passionate musician and dedicated educator. Whether collaborating in musical spaces or teaching the next generation of artists, I seek out opportunities that foster growth, curiosity, and care. Through all facets of my work, I strive to make a genuine impact—using art as a way to make a difference and engage thoughtfully with the world around me.
Musical Journey and Teaching Philosophy
My musical journey began at eight with piano, earning recognition from the National Federation of Music for piano performance, music theory, and sight-reading. At nine, I began studying violin through my school’s orchestra program, later performing at venues such as Carnegie Hall with the Kirkwood High School Orchestra. At Webster Conservatory, I performed as an actor-musician both onstage and in the pit, and later continued performing in cabaret settings at Don’t Tell Mama and in productions at Actors Theatre of Louisville. Alongside performance, I found deep fulfillment in teaching—offering private lessons in voice, dance, and violin through my own studio and at the Gateway Center for Performing Arts and DaySpring Arts and Education. I hope that each note tells a story, and every lesson unlocks endless possibilities.
In my free time
When I’m not performing, I find inspiration in the world around me—whether that’s exploring new coffee and bagel spots in Queens, visiting local art fairs, or uncovering hidden treasures at thrift shops. I’m also an avid traveler and have explored places such as Rapa Nui (Easter Island), Iceland, Western Europe, and most recently, Amsterdam. Experiences like these continually fuel my creativity and deepen my connection to storytelling. Beyond performance, I serve as a board member and social media manager for the Regional Theatre of the Palouse in Washington State, where I support the organization’s mission to expand access to the arts and arts education through quality theatre (@rtop_theatre).
